Thank You Dr. King
Yesterday, my friend and I had a conversation about Martin Luther King Jr. Day. With so many people and situations that helped guide us through the Civil Rights Movement, why was it that Dr. King was selected as the one person that has a national holiday in his memory? Why is there no Rosa Parks day?

I think in some way Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a day of celebration and honor for everyone that was involved in the movement. Dr. King was the driving force behind the movement. But it took individuals on both sides of the race issue to stand up and make good, right, peaceful decisions.
I thank Dr. King for helping his dream become a reality in this country. However, I also thank every other person that was involved with this dark period of our country’s history.
Thank you for standing up for what was right, even in the face of great adversity. As a country, we still have our demons. I suppose that perfect harmony is a lofty goal, perhaps unattainable. However, because of the actions of Dr. King and others from this era, we’re sure closer than we were.
For all who have sacrificed to make our country what it is today, all of us at Paradise Party Rentals would like to say…thank you.
I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.
